Losing a loved one is never easy, there’s such a lot to do and think about. Once the funeral has taken place and things start to settle into some sort of normality again (although things will never be the same) there comes a time when you may need the help of a Monumental Mason to help you to mark the final resting place of your loved one.

One family-run firm in York – J W Myers Monumental Masons – has made it their business for several generations to serve the bereaved and it’s something they do exceptionally well, with an unparalleled level of respect, care and attention to detail.
JW Myers support their local community in many ways – raising funds for local charities and food-banks with coffee mornings and more, donating a free memorial each year to a deserving family and various other incentives including the delivery of a present to every child in Wheldrake – where their head office is based – at Christmas time.
During the pandemic they supplied toilet rolls to those who needed them and purchased and distributed PPE to the many local funeral directors with whom they deal and some care homes. Basically, they’re a company known for their care in the community.
It’s no surprise therefore that they were nominated and voted winners of the York Press “Family Business of the Year” award, recently.
Led by husband and wife team James and Nicola Myers with their team behind them the company has grown exponentially now having branches in Wheldrake, Fulford, Selby, Easingwold, Malton and Scarborough.
